CHOICES is a program which has over 650 occupations and 4000 schools in its data base. The program allows you to search the database using a variety of criteria. You can then get a complete list of information about the job or school.


KUDER'S - Assess your interests, skills, and work values online with the DMACC College and Career Planning System powered by Kuder. Using your assessment results, build your personal career plan and explore a variety of college and career options. The College Planning Center provides information for Iowa students as well as free publications. The Iowa Student aid commission provides Mapping your future a program for a look at school and career options.

Surveys can provide interesting insight to jobs and college environments. Check out Vault and read tips from students about admissions, academics, employment, qualities of life, and social life on campus.

Collegeboard offers search programs for colleges, scholarships and careers.

The Education Center has a good quick find scroll down menu for college and scholarship searches.

The U.S. government also provides the Occupation Outlook handbook for career exploration.

Medical Assisting - In order to become a Medical Assistant in the state of Iowa, a person will need to take part in the appropriate schooling and educational courses. Thankfully, there are many different medical assistant schools in Iowa. Some of these schools provide people with the opportunity to obtain certification as a medical assistant, while others lead to an associate’s degree in medical assisting.
