On Tuesday, September 14, 2010, patrons of the Dallas Center - Grimes School District will be asked to go to the polls for a special election to approve a facility funding measure.
Bond elections is for funding a 13.6 million dollar building for grades 8th and 9th to be built at the current high school site. The 13.6 million would be used in conjunction with local option sales tax funding to construct a 15.0 million dollar facility. The ballot question will read as follows:
"Shall the Board of Directors of the Dallas Center - Grimes Community School District in Counties of Polk and Dallas, State of Iowa, be authorized to contract indebtedness and issue General Obligation Bonds in an amount not to exceed $13,6000,000 to provide funds to build, furnish, and equip a new middle school building and to improve the site?"
Public information meetings have been scheduled for Tuesday, August 31 at the DC-G Middle School Media Center and Thursday, September 2 at North Ridge Elementary Media Center. Both meetings will start at 7:00 P.M.
School district administration would like to present information to community groups as requested. Presentations can vary from 15-45 minutes, depending on your needs.
