Diann Williamson

My name is Diann Williamson, and I am honored to serve as the principal of Heritage Elementary. This is my tenth year as principal for DCG schools, and my 32nd year in the field of education.

I received my BA in K-6 Elementary Education from the University of Northern Iowa with minors in English/Language Arts, Mathematics and Middle School. I later obtained an endorsement in Reading and a K-12 Reading Specialist degree from Viterbo University. Years later, I was encouraged by my mentors to earn my administration degree. As you can see, I have a passion for learning!

I have had the opportunity to perform many roles in the field of education: 3-5 elementary teacher, 8th grade ELA/Social Studies teacher, instructional coach, and assistant principal. All of these experiences meld nicely to assist me in my role as principal.

On a personal note, my husband Mike and I have two sons who attend the University of Northern Iowa. We enjoy spending time together as a family when we get the chance.

Opening Heritage Elementary has been one of the most challenging, yet rewarding experiences of my life! The staff and I are very proud of our strong, collaborative community which emphasizes relationships and learning.
