My name is Diann Williamson and this is my fourth year serving the Dallas Center-Grimes school district as the principal at Dallas Center Elementary. I absolutely love being part of this community! My family and I live in Adel.  My husband, Mike, works for Sales Reps., Inc. out of Omaha. Our oldest son, Seth, is a sophomore at Adel High School, and our youngest son, Cole, is an 8th grader. Much of our family time is spent attending sporting events for the boys.

Education has been my passion for the past 25 years. I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 1991 with a degree in Elementary Education. I also obtained a minor in language arts and mathematics with an emphasis in middle school education. My professional teaching career began as a 3rd and 4th grade teacher in Houston, Texas, where I taught for five years. Although I enjoyed living in Houston, I missed my family and was ready to return home. In 1996, I was offered a position in Waukee teaching 5th grade. During this time, I earned my Master’s in Elementary Education from Viterbo University. After teaching 5th grade for seven years, I decided to broaden my learning with new experiences. I spent time in the Des Moines Public Schools as a Literacy Leader at Moulton Extended Learning Center and four years as an 8th grade language arts and social studies teacher in Johnston. I returned to Waukee as an instructional coach in 2008 and began working on my Master’s in Educational Leadership.  I then became assistant principal between two elementary buildings in 2012. Now, I am proud to serve you as principal of Dallas Center Elementary!

I have enjoyed getting to know the students and families of Dallas Center Elementary.  There is a wonderful family culture in which I am proud to be a member. With our exceptional staff, it is a great place for students to learn and grow!
