It's not too late to go to France and Spain over Spring Break! The World Language department will be traveling to France and Spain over Spring Break and we want YOU to come with! You only need to have taken a French or Spanish class in the past, or be taking one right now. We will be having an informational meeting for anyone interested and students already signed up on Monday, October 17th in the Meadows Media Center at 6:00 p.m. If you want more information before that, you can go to www.eftours.com and enter the trip number: 1754827WE or come and see Mrs. Lane, Mrs. Hawks or Ms. Roy.

Dallas Center-Grimes offers extra curricular activities in the areas of Athletics, Speech, Drama, Instrumental and Vocal Music.   Over the past five years, nearly 80% of our High School Students have participated in at least one Extra Curricular Activity and nearly 60% of those participate in more than one activity.

DCG has some of the best facilities of any school of comparable size in Iowa.   With three four gyms,  a 650 seat Auditorium and a 3200 seat Stadium our students great facilities to practice, perform and compete.

Support for these programs is provided by the DCG Athletic Boosters, Friends of Fine Art and Mustang Wrestling Club.   These groups provide equipment, uniforms and other supplies to make our programs work.

Over the past three years DCG has won 15 Conference Championships, had 17 All State Musicians, 3 All State Artists, 1 All State Speech Performer along with two individual State Champions.   In the summer of 2012 the DCG Baseball Team captured the 3A State Baseball title and the Fillie Softball Team was the State Runner Up in Class 4A.

The future looks bright at DCG with great coaches, directors, students and parents.   Into the future we plan to continue to offer opportunities for our students as an extension of the classroom.

Respectfully,

Steve Watson
