Third grade students at Heritage Elementary had an idea, but they needed to get approval from the principal before getting started.
Students were hoping to add a core board to the recess area outside of their classroom. A core board helps students explain how they are feeling without using words. It helps strengthen communication skills for students at all levels of learning. The idea gained momentum during their persuasive writing unit. Students used their writing skills to create a presentation for Heritage Principal Diann Williamson. During the presentation, they showcased all of the different ways a core board would impact their classmates and their building as a whole.
