It’s signing day at Dallas Center-Grimes High School.
“It’s something we’ve never done before,” says Caleb Morris.
“It was just like when people sign to colleges,” adds Dalton Bergthold. “We are signing to work.”
“I’ve never done anything like it and obviously and I’m really excited for it,” shares Loden Maxon.
Dalton, Loden and Caleb are three of 25 DCG students getting ready to begin their School-to-Work experience. This trio is heading to the The Absolute Group.
“There’s a good career path to this,” says Maxon. “There’s no better time to get it started.”
DCG School-to-Work students are placed with as many local partners as possible in a variety of fields. That includes banking, nursing, accounting, finance and several skilled trades.
“Really just soak in all of the information I can, make myself a better man, and know what to do,” says Maxon. “This is the best opportunity to do that.”
