It’s an exciting time at Dallas Center-Grimes High School. The building is going through a major renovation project and a significant milestone was reached during the 2023-24 school year. Work has been completed in the weight Mustang Athletic Performance Center, a new band room and new art studios. The renovation was paid for through bonds, sales tax and PPEL funds.
The brand-new Mustang Athletic Performance Center opened on Friday, January 12. The facility includes a state-of-the-art weight room and auxiliary gym. In addition to athletic training, this facility will be used by approximately 600 high school students during the academic year.
The DCG High School band rooms opened at the start of the 2023-24 school year. This facility is large enough to hold DCG High School Marching Band practice. Directors can divide the room for smaller group instruction. There are also practice rooms that can be used for individual practice.
The DCG High School art rooms also opened at the start of the 2023-24 school year. This facility holds classes in Art I, Painting 1-4, Drawing 1-4, Ceramics 1-4, Sculpture, Graphic Design and Art Appreciations. Approximately 540 students will take at least one class in this space throughout the school year.
