About North Ridge Elementary
Welcome to North Ridge Elementary! North Ridge opened in 2008 and is one of four elementary schools in the Dallas Center-Grimes Community School District. We are located at 400 NW 27th Street in Grimes, Iowa. Our school serves students in Kindergarten through fourth grade. North Ridge is home to approximately 500 students.
At North Ridge Elementary, we place student learning and helping each child take charge of their future as our primary focus. With our strong emphasis on meeting the needs of all students through differentiated instruction and research-based practices, students at North Ridge are accountable for their learning and are proud to see their progress.
North Ridge staff are dedicated to professional growth & development as they regularly collaborate in professional learning communities (PLC’s), aimed at continuous improvement in the areas of teaching and learning. Our District Model guides our teachers’ work in the classroom by focusing on the 3 C’s:

- Collaboration
- Consistency
Our District-Wide Areas of Focus allow us to achieve the 3 C’s and put our model into action.

Through consistent teaching, modeling, and practicing, North Ridge students show good character by demonstrating safe, caring, respectful, and responsible behaviors. In 2017, North Ridge received the CHARACTER COUNTS! Award from the Robert D. and Billie Ray Center at Drake University.
Our school offers additional support services in the areas of Special Education, Extended Learning Program, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), and American Sign Language (ASL).
