Walters Named DCG SRO

Dallas Center-Grimes CSD is excited to announce that Deputy MaKennah Walters will be joining DCG as our second School Resource Officer. Deputy Walters works for the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and serves in the Patrol Division.

Deputy Walters will work primarily out of Oak View but will serve our entire district. She joins Deputy Alan Loutzenhiser on DCG’s SRO team. Deputy Loutzenhiser will continue to be stationed at DCG High School.

“After spending several months working as an SRO at Saydel, I am drawn to this position and I can’t wait to get started,” shares Deputy Walters. “I will strive to make a meaningful difference and have a lasting, positive impact at DCG. I am committed to fostering a safe and secure learning environment where everyone feels protected and empowered”

Deputy Walters started her law enforcement career as a Jasper County Jailer in 2017. From there she transitioned to Jasper County’s Patrol Division before joining the team at the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in 2022.

“Deputy Walters is a homerun hire at DCG,” shares DCG Superintendent Dr. Scott Blum. “She impressed our entire interview team by showcasing her work ethic and an extreme dedication to making a difference in the lives of everyone in our community.”

In addition to her work on patrol, Deputy Walters is a Polk County Defensive Tactics Instructor and also teaches a Women’s Self Defense class through the PCSO.

“I am committed to building relationships with everyone at DCG from my very first day,” says Deputy Walters. “Deputy Loutzenhiser has laid the foundation of this partnership and I’m excited to work alongside him and everyone else at DCG!”
