About
Welcome to Dallas Center-Grimes Oak View! We opened our doors at the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year. We are located at 1300 SW County Line Road in Grimes. Our school is home to approximately 525 students in seventh and eighth grades.
At DCG Oak View, we embrace our motto: You Belong Here! In our school we empower our students to shape their future by offering a wealth of exploratory classes and extracurricular activities. Within the core academic classes, we create joyful and challenging learning opportunities that place an emphasis on engaging lessons that incorporate hands on activities. Our students excel both inside and outside of the classroom.
DCG Oak View staff are dedicated to professional growth & development as they regularly collaborate in professional learning communities (PLC’s), aimed at continuous improvement in the areas of teaching and learning. Our District Model guides our teachers’ work in the classroom by focusing on the 3 C’s:
- Consistency
- Communication
- Collaboration
Our District-Wide Areas of Focus allow us to achieve the 3 C’s and put our model into action.
- Curriculum is guaranteed and viable
- Environment is safe and positive
- Relationships are professional and respectful
- Technology is infused throughout the system.
At Oak View, we honor our students’ learning styles, personalities, and interests. We encourage our students to become risk-takers and allow them many opportunities to learn. With our strong emphasis on meeting the needs of all students through differentiated instruction and research-based practices, we believe in the importance of providing guidance while also pushing our students to take ownership of their learning. We provide support through Student Services, Guidance, ESOL, and Special Education programs. We hold high expectations and offer support to help our students reach their goals.
