State Soccer Titles

Saturday, June 1 will go down as one of the best days in the history of the DCG Activities department. In the span of eight hours, DCG Soccer claimed two state titles!

The DCG Boys Soccer team defeated DM Hoover in overtime of the Class 3A State Championship 3-2. This is the first state title in program history! Brogan Fuller knocked in the game-winning goal off of a corner kick from Tate McDermott. Ben Jackson scored DCG’s first two goals.

DCG’s second state title of the day came a few hours later when the DCG Girls Soccer team beat North Polk in the Class 2A State Championship 6-1. This is the program’s third straight state title! Kylie Knief and Landry Glasgow each scored two goals in the title game. Ella Forsyth added a goal and an assist. Click here for a state championship recap.

After both teams raised the trophies, we brought the celebration back to DCG High School for a community celebration. Winning two state titles in one day is one monumental accomplishment.
