Senior Spotlight – Neela Williamson

The final Senior Spotlight of the Dallas Center-Grimes High School Class of 2025 is Neela Williamson. Neela was the voice behind this year’s senior spotlights.

Neela’s Senior Spotlight highlights her work as an intern, her time as a DCG basketball and soccer player, as well as some of her senior year memories.

School-to-Work Intern

Throughout Neela’s senior year, she worked as a school-to-work intern in the DCG Communications Department.  One of her primary projects was the DCG High School Senior Spotlight series, recognizing her classmates from the DCG Class of 2025.

Neela’s internship also provided an opportunity to work in graphic design and media production. She played a key role in providing content for the new video board in the DCG High School Gymnasium. Neela knows this introduction to the media world will help her next year as she transitions to the University of Iowa to study Sports Broadcasting and Journalism.

Basketball + Soccer

Neela was a multi-sport athlete at DCG High School, playing varsity in basketball and soccer. She’s won conference championships, played in multiple state tournaments and leaves with one of the all-time best winning percentages in school history.

Her fondest memories are tee-peeing the home of DCG Head Coach Adam Jones after qualifying for the state tournament each year!

Shortly after basketball season ends, Neela transitions to the soccer pitch!  She has been a four-year starter, winning three soccer state championships, aiming for a fourth in 2025. Neela is a key contributor on DCG’s 2025 team. They are playing in the 2025 Class 2A State Tournament

Between basketball and soccer, she has been a part of four state championship teams.

Neela Williamson made the most of her time as a DCG Mustang! We wish her and the DCG Class of 2025 all the best in their future endeavors!
