DCG Senior Halley Beaudet is our next senior spotlight at DCG High School. In her four years of high school, Halley has been involved with numerous activities and clubs including cross country, wrestling, basketball, rugby, soccer, NHS, Rho Kappa, but without a doubt, Halley is most known for her accomplishments on the wrestling mat. Halley has been a part of the DCG Girls Wrestling team since her freshman year. She has been pushing herself since freshman year to become better and it all paid off by the time her very last match came before her. As a freshman Halley did not have a prior interest in wrestling but simply saw the flyer in the hall for an upcoming informational meeting and thought it sounded fun. Freshman year took a toll on her as she was participating in basketball and wrestling during the same season. But after that year Halley knew her heart was with wrestling.
Now as a senior Halley is leaving as one of the most decorated DCG Girls Wrestlers ever. At her state qualifying meet she not only punched that ticket to the tournament but reached her 100th win the same day. Halley had a fantastic run at the IGHSAU state tournament in Iowa City where she finished 3rd, ending her career with the best finish in program history.
