Food for Thought

Students or Staff: Students

Event Type: Non-Profit/Community

Details: The United States has been called a “melting pot,” which suggests that immigrants assimilate into a distinctly “American” culture. Is America truly a “melting pot?” Or a “salad bowl”? A “hearty stew”? Something altogether different? These are questions that students will address. Living History Farms has been partnered with the Windsor History Museum in Windsor, Colorado. Students will explore their community and its role in the 250+ years of America’s history through the foods that bring us to the dinner table. A final Community Showcase will highlight each student’s culinary heritage. Meetings will be a mix of in-person and virtual on Wednesdays after school, exact time tba Alternatives available if you’re unable to attend a certain day. Program runs October 8 through December 10 (no meeting November 26). The Community Showcase will be held Saturday, December 6, time tba.
