Dallas Center-Grimes is excited to announce that Transitional Kindergarten will be a full-day program starting in the 2026-27 school year!
Transitional Kindergarten will meet Monday-Friday at North Ridge Elementary and will follow the same bell schedule as all of our elementary schools. In addition to their classroom learning at North Ridge, students will also participate in our five encore classes – PE, Art, Music, Guidance and Library. Students will also eat lunch in the North Ridge Cafeteria.
By making a switch to a full-day program, DCG Transitional Kindergarten will offer our students more time with licensed educators. Transitional kindergarten promotes purposeful play and allows our team to meet the individualized needs of each student enrolled. Transitional Kindergarten prepares students for a successful transition into kindergarten the following school year.
Families will be able to indicate their interest in Transitional Kindergarten during the online enrollment period, set to open on February 1. Further information will be provided by North Ridge Elementary to interested families later this spring.
